SYMPOSIUM CLOTHING
Branded distinctive, Surf-Skate apparel generated micro-loans for female entrepreneurs in South Africa.
SOCIAL ENTERPRISE APPAREL BRAND
Women’s Development Business (WDB) has worked since 1991 to end extreme poverty in South Africa through micro-loans, entrepreneurship, literacy training, and financial education. Symposium Clothing created itself as a social enterprise specifically to support WBD’s initiatives and, for every shirt sold, gave 10% of its income in the form of a micro-loan to a female entrepreneur in South Africa to help start a business. Prolific Creative developed Symposium Clothing’s inaugural branding, using The Baobab Tree: Africa’s Iconic “Tree of Life” at its core.
BRAND + CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT
The logo work led Prolific to doing editorial and product photography for lookbook and web content, as well as digital and print marketing and social media. Prolific Creative’s work helped Symposium Clothing sell its entire line, allowing a better life to several South African women.
